Review: Iron Man on DVD

So when Iron Man first came out I didn’t watch it… didn’t have any inclination to do so…

Then a friend of mine wanted to see the Avengers and I thought “why the hell not” and found that I really enjoyed it.

In fact when I first wrote about The Avengers I went so far as to say the following about Iron Man:

I was apprehensive when the first Iron Man movie came out despite the good reviews, and was just as apprehensive when the second movie came out… but when I watched The Avengers I just started drooling. He was funny, and witty and absolutely delicious. So now I know what I’m going to be catching up with this summer.

So yeah… I actually did do some catching up in some capacity over the summer pre-flight and during flight… except I didn’t watch the Captain America film that was available on flight because I just wasn’t in the mood… ah well.

Anyway this post is suppose to focus on Iron Man… so focusing I will.

Entertainment: The Avengers – Sailor Moon style!

Since The Avengers opened in theatres a several weeks ago there’s been a plethora of fan art throughout internet. Heck even the Hulk flinging Loki like a ragdoll was recreated in some capacity or another in various YouTube videos.

So when going through Fashionably Geek, I geeked out on the following image.

Yes, you’re seeing that right, it’s The Avengers redrawn into the image of a Sailor Soldiers. Looking more into detail it turns out that the above was drawn by Ann Marcellino, which prints are available.

Review: The Avengers

First… before anything else a silent film parody of arguably the scene stealer of the movie:

That in and of itself is more than worth the price of admission. That scene of watching the Hulk tossing Loki around like a ragdoll stole the movie for me. Probably my favorite scene in the whole movie, especially since the previous Hulk movies had the Hulk doing a lot of sulking and a lot of drama. Whileas in this movie, the Hulk had a little bit of that sulkiness, but in the end did a lot of “Hulk Smash!” which was what a lot of people loved about the Hulk. But I am getting ahead of myself.

Snippets: Thor on Dancing with the Stars (Australian Version)

Before I begin… here you go… Thor… DANCING!

Yes, that is Chris Hemsworth dancing the Samba with ballroom dancing professional Abbey Ross during the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars Season 5 which would have been Fall of 2006. According to Wikipedia his progression was as such:
Week 1: Waltz – 18
Week 2: Rumba – 16
Week 3: Tango – 18
Week 4: Paso Doble – 21
Week 5: Samba – 19
Week 6: Foxtrot – 19
Week 7: ChaCha – 22

According to Wikipedia, he appeared to have had the lowest through the entire duration of his time on the show save for two dances (Paso Doble and Samba). If I could find more videos I’ll post them.

Many thanks to my co-blogger Courtney from Pure Dancing with the Stars for reminding me about this gem.
